A Metallica rip-off or successful joke? Weezer’s 13th album and 6th self-titled album, the Black album continues with the band’s journey having a catchy return. Rivers Cuomo, Brian Bell, Scott Shriner, and Patrick Wilson make up the legendary quartet with their tenure lasting more than 20 years. Ultimately, Weezer may have strayed from their general path.

From the country that gave us bands like King Diamond, Pretty Maids and Volbeat comes the newcomers of hard hitting melodic Danish heavy metal: Pectora. Since the formation of the band in 2013 Roskilde based Pectora have released the demo ”Burgeon Of Hate” in 2014 and the EP ”Redemption” in 2017. All of them leading up to their bombastic debut album ”Untaken” to be released through Mighty Music in May 2019.

“Out of Connection” is the third album of Italian modern melodic metal band Sinheresy, and will be released on July 26 on Scarlet Records. Since their debut with the EP “The Spiders and the Butterfly” (2011), the band has crafted a unique sound made of melodic male / female vocals, modern guitar riffs and bombastic keyboard soundscapes.

After the success of their previous album “Novos Rumos” (2015) and many positive reviews and feedback, Brazilian metal band Newsonic return with “Vorax”, which was independently released on June 27. The quintet currently consists of powerhouse vocalist Anderson Khross, guitarists Erik Cholovski and Luke Freitas, bass player Flavio Almeida, and drummer and Bruno Perrone.

International progressive metal project Chaos over Cosmos has returned with new music this year, as their self-titled EP was released on July 18. Since the release of the debut album “The Unknown Voyage” in September 2018, Javier Calderón decided to leave Chaos Over Cosmos, but Rafal quickly found a new ‘voice’ to work with in Australian vocalist Joshua Ratcliff (Resurgence).

Era of Ephemeris is a Swedish symphonic metal band with influences spanning from melodic death metal to progrock. Founded in 2017 by Urban Granbacke, who also recruited Chris Nielsen on drums, Rossana Cavallotto on vocals, Emil Alatalo on guitar and Sebastian Karlsson on bass guitar. Their debut EP “Among the Stars” was released independently on June 28.
