I want to start off by saying that I really miss the link between their music and the Japanese title(s). Same goes for the cover artwork, I really don’t see how it connects with the music... Let’s listen! ‘’Mikasa’’ is a great track, but I expected their music to be a bit heavier actually. ‘’Elvira’’ has that heaviness in the intro but quickly after that disappears… The lyrics are a bit cheesy, I’m trying to not let that influence my opinion too much but unfortunately it does. I mean the music is good but that is all I can say for now. Same goes for “Zelda’’. ‘’Sakura’’ is hard to describe, it has a bit of everything, and just a bit too much. I do really like the softer parts in the song, but it just sounds so out of balance. The last song is ‘’Bulma’’, the track that got released as a single earlier. This track is definitely the best one of the whole [EP]!

I found it difficult to describe Farewell In Vegas’ music, I think this is their first release and I didn’t want to be too hard on them. You can definitely hear they have talent, but I think they just executed it poorly most of the [EP]. It sounds a bit rushed, like they forgot to edit at one point. Sometimes, less is more. I’d rate Serenades [EP] a 3 out of 5.
